Roofing Systems and Materials We Install and Service
Since 2000, The Construction Expert of Florida has installed, repaired, and replaced thousands of roofs across South Florida. We provide a broad range of roof types for homes and commercial properties, focusing on long-term performance and protection from the elements.
Our team specializes in roof installation and construction using high-quality materials such as shingles, membranes, metal, coatings, and more—always installed to current codes and manufacturer specifications.
TPO Roofing Systems
TPO roofing is one of the most common commercial roofing materials—often recognized by its bright white surface. Thermoplastic Polyolefin is a single-ply membrane made of synthetics and reinforcing scrim that covers commercial flat roofs with a durable, flexible layer.
TPO membranes typically come in 10, 12, or 20-foot rolls and are installed using bonding adhesive or mechanical fasteners, then heat-welded at the seams. The result is an energy-efficient, weather-resistant roof system that represents a large share of today’s commercial roofing market.
Roof Coating Systems
Roof coating systems are used over existing roof membranes or materials such as acrylic, silicone, SEBS, PVDF, and urethane. A coating—often a silicone restoration layer—is applied to rejuvenate the existing roof, seal minor cracks, and create a new weatherproof surface.
After the existing roof is evaluated, cleaned, and repaired, the coating is sprayed or rolled on to create a seamless protective layer. This can extend the life of the roof and, in many cases, help maintain or extend the manufacturer’s warranty while improving weather and UV resistance.
PVC Roofing Systems
PVC roofing systems use heat-weldable polyvinyl chloride thermoplastic membranes that offer excellent resistance to oils, fuels, and harsh chemicals—making them a strong choice for many commercial and industrial roofs.
PVC systems often include self-adhered options, mechanically fastened assemblies, and a full set of accessories such as adhesives, primers, fasteners, plates, insulation, and cover boards. Combined, these components create a durable, weatherproof, and chemical-resistant roofing system.
Modified Bitumen Roofing
Modified bitumen roofing is ideal for low-slope roofs. It combines asphalt with polymerized rubber or plastic and is reinforced with fiberglass to create a rugged-yet-flexible waterproof membrane.
Self-adhered modified bitumen systems are typically installed in two or three layers, reducing leak risk compared to single-layer roofs. Thicknesses ranging from 180–380 mils provide added protection from foot traffic, while labor costs can be lower than some single-ply options like TPO.
Asphalt Shingle Roofing
Asphalt shingles remain one of the most popular and cost-effective roofing materials for homes. Options include 3-tab shingles, dimensional (architectural) shingles, and premium shingles that mimic slate or other high-end looks.
A complete asphalt shingle roof is a system that may include roof decking, flashing, underlayment, drip edge, ice and water shield, pipe boots, vents, and ridge caps. Installed together, these components help protect your home or business from wind, rain, and daily weather exposure.
PVC Tile Roofing
PVC tile roofing uses polyvinyl chloride-based tiles that can replicate the look of slate, clay, or wood at a lower weight and often at a lower cost than traditional materials.
These synthetic tiles offer improved impact resistance, weather protection, and long-term performance. Because they are generally lighter than cement or clay tiles, they can be an attractive option where structure or budget would make heavier materials difficult.
Metal Roofing
Metal roofing covers a family of materials—aluminum, steel, copper, standing seam panels, and stone-coated steel systems—that often last two to three times longer than many conventional roofing products.
Metal roofs are known for durability, energy efficiency, and long-term value. They resist rot, insect damage, and many issues that affect traditional roofs, providing excellent return on investment over their lifespan.
Low-Slope Membrane Roofing
Low-slope roofing involves applying a weatherproof, water-impermeable membrane to roofs with a slope less than or equal to 14 degrees. These membranes protect the structure and help manage standing water and drainage.
Coatings and membranes for low-slope roofs can include silicone, acrylic, and urethane products applied by spraying, rolling, or brushing. When properly installed, they help extend roof life and improve resistance to the sun and heavy rain.
